Atlanta Steel Erectors was originally incorporated in 1947 by W.R. Paige, David G. Warner, and W.L. Benson, with an office located at 279 Luckie Street NW, an area of Atlanta that is now the home of Centennial Olympic Park. By 1979, the business had two divisions, one specializing in steel erection and another in elevator installation and operations. At that time the company was owned by Trust Company of Georgia, a bank in the Atlanta area. Trust Company of Georgia approached one of their long-time customers, Williams Enterprises of Georgia, and an agreement was reached to acquire the company.

After purchasing Atlanta Steel Erectors in 1979, Williams Enterprises of Georgia moved the company to its office in Smyrna, GA, where they continue operations today. ASE now focuses exclusively on the erection of miscellaneous steel in the Atlanta area, but also travels throughout the Southeast region, and together with the Williams Family of Companies is the largest erector in the region.

Atlanta Steel Erectors is an AISC Advanced Certified Steel Erector.
